Web21 jan. 2024 · I am trying to replace the seals in our Ford 3930 4-wheel-drive tractor's steering cylinder but I cannot get the ball joints unscrewed from the end of the steering cylinder rod. There's only a narrow space to fit a wrench onto the end of the cylinder rod where the ball joint meets it. Had to grind down a wrench to fit the slot. Web11 okt. 2015 · Replaced these today, easier job than I thought. Couple of things: The clips holding the dust boot on are one time use. Cable ties are a good substitute and work perfectly fine. We couldn't get the dust boot off the tie rod so cut it in half. The tie rod and track rod end had seized, hence the need to replace them.
